Soft
white snow
a confection of clean
covers the dark mud
cracked river of today
and tomorrow another
flood or fire or storm
the costly calamity a
climate crisis creates
but for now just now
the sweet delicious snow
will hide the mess and
keep the dark below
from human
sight.
